Big Creek National Wildlife Area
It's a nice short trail with a few viewing platforms that goes through some picturesque marshlands full of birds, water snakes and some animals. Unfortunately, many blood-thirsty insects also call this place a home, so venturing there from late May to early August can end up badly. Note that the deer flies don't care about the amount of DEET you put on your skin.

We visited beach with 1 day pass. Water was nice and clean, sand was fine, but we decided to take a shade under the tree and it was terrible as there were abnormal amounts of big biting flies attacking us and even Off spray couldn't help! They were following my son up to the water. I guess that's why everyone was taking place as close to water as they can. So keep it in mind if visiting

Been here a few times and always amazing to see. Best time however is spring or fall when the birds are migrating. Nice trail to walk through. All kinds of birds, turtles, muskrats and other wildlife to see.

This place is open post-Covid. No entrance or parking fee. Both parking and washrooms are available on site. This area is located at the base of the Long point peninsula, the longest fresh water sand spit in the world. There's a short trail among the marshes with two viewing platforms along the way. It is said to be the home to many endangered flora and fauna species. I saw Monarch butterflies one of the species of special concern in Ontario province in plenty. Also the red admiral butterfly and Bronze copper butterflies were seen. Unfortunately the Common Reed (an invasive plant) has started to invade the beautiful marshland. Ideal for a short walk on the trail with mildly cold breezes passing by!!

Great, free, spot on the causeway to view birds, turtles and snakes. Several observation decks dot a 2 km trail atop a dyke that separates managed ponds on a former hunt club and muskrat farm. Clean, environmentally clever washrooms. A must for birders and families during migration seasons.

A 2 km trail through the marshes near Long Point So many swallows, red winged black birds, with monarch butterflies fluttering past us surrounded by milkweed, bull rushes many tall grasses as we hiked this serene wetland trail. Loved it
